Wei
is
a
common
Chinese
name,
but
it
becomes
unique
when
paired
with
an
uncommon
foreign
surname.
I
am
fortunate
to
have
been
born
with
this
name
and
to
have
had
the
opportunity
to
travel
and
study
in
foreign
countries. My
journey
of
cultural
exchange
began
when
I
was
in
high
school.
I
was
selected
to
participate
in
an
exchange
program
and
spent
a
year
studying
in
Germany.
It
was
a
challenging
experience;
I
had
to
overcome
the
language
barrier
and
adapt
to
a
different
culture.
However,
it
was
also
a
rewarding
experience,
as
I
made
new
friends,
gained
independence,
and
broadened
my
horizons. After
returning
to
China,
I
decided
to
pursue
a
higher
education
abroad.
I
enrolled
in
a
university
in
the
United
States
and
majored
in
business.
It
was
a
fascinating
experience,
as
I
was
exposed
to
new
concepts,
ideas,
and
perspectives.
I
interacted
with
people
from
diverse
backgrounds
and
learned
to
appreciate
the
value
of
diversity. However,
studying
abroad
also
presented
its
own
set
of
challenges.
Homesickness,
cultural
differences,
and
academic
pressures
were
constant
hurdles
to
overcome.
But
with
determination
and
support
from
family
and
friends,
I
was
able
to
succeed
and
graduate
with
honors. My
experiences
of
studying
and
living
abroad
have
helped
me
to
become
a
more
open-minded,
adaptable,
and
culturally
sensitive
person.
I
have
also
developed
a
global
network
of
friends
and
colleagues
who
share
my
passion
for
cross-cultural
communication
and
cooperation. In
conclusion,
my
foreign
surname
has
not
only
made
me
stand
out
from
the
crowd
but
also
opened
doors
for
me
to
explore
the
world
and
embrace
different
cultures.
I
am
